Chang received Master of Architecture degree from University of Pennsylvania in 1987 and became a licensed architect in the U.S. in 1992, Taiwan in 1995. He won a student competition for a public housing project in East Harlem NYC while studying at Penn and received other awards from Baltimore AIA and National AIA for his design from work.
Chang has been practicing in Taiwan since 2000. He is the principal architect of JYCArchitect and was assistant professor of Department of Architecture, Cheng-Kong University as well as Department of Interior and landscape Design, Feng-Chia University. He also lectures at various design institutions.
JYCArchitect has received awards for mostly its residential projects from city government and professional magazines. in 2013, Chang received the Outstanding Architect Award from Taiwan Ministry of the Interior, an award regarded as the highest honor for architects in Taiwan.
